Antique HUGE Wooden Dough Bowl with Copper

This is an authentic 1800's wooden dough bowl that has been reinforced through the years with copper panels. 

A Colonial staple, dough bowls are both beautiful and functional. In the 1800s these hand-carved wooden bowls were originally passed down from mother to daughter and utilized frequently, since they were (and continue to be) the perfect spot to let bread dough rest and rise. The high sides of the dough bowl protect it from any draft and the wood retains the heat from the yeast, thus keeping the dough nice and warm.
